Halloween Community safety Message

This can be a fun and exciting time for many, but it’s important to ensure everyone stays safe and respects others in the community.  

Here are some safety tips and reminders.

Tips for those going out: 

Respect privacy and only visit homes that are clearly celebrating with decorations. Respect “No Callers” signs.

Stay together: It’s always best to go out with an adult or a group of friends,

Be Visible: Stay in well lit areas, wear reflective clothing, and carry a torch.

Safety first: Be aware of your surroundings and be mindful of surrounding traffic.

Look out for vulnerable neighbours: Be mindful that some people, especially the elderly and the vulnerable, may find the night stressful.

Tips for those staying at home:

Don’t open your door if you are unsure who is there.

Have a contact number of someone that is close to you whether that be a friend, family member or neighbour that you can call if needed.
